Dear Families,

As we celebrate the 2024–2025 school year, we are excited to invite you to our End-of-Year Picnic! The picnic will take place on Thursday, May 22nd, from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM. During this time, classes will gather outside on the field in designated areas marked by large helium balloons for each grade level.

To help the day run smoothly, please review the following important details:

  • Lunch Options: Students may bring a lunch from home or receive a hot lunch from the cafeteria. Please do not order food deliveries (e.g., DoorDash). We are unable to manage outside deliveries during the picnic as we want to focus our time and attention on supporting students and families throughout the event.
  • Parent Attendance: While parent attendance is not required, we would absolutely LOVE to have you join us! If attending, please bring lunch for yourself and any siblings who may be accompanying you. Parents do not need to sign in at the front office and should head straight to the field to enjoy the picnic.
  • After the Picnic: The event will end promptly at 12:45 PM. Students who are not being checked out will return to their classrooms and remain at school until dismissal at 3:30 PM.
  • Early Checkout: Parents will have the option to check out their student(s). To check out, please be sure to sign out your student with their teacher at the beginning of the picnic. Once you have checked out your student, they are under your care for the remainder of the event.
  • Pickup Plans: To ensure student safety and help us plan effectively, please indicate whether your child will be:

           a) Going home with you (please see our check out procedures above).

           b) Going home with another family (see our check out procedures above).

           c) Staying at school until regular dismissal time.

  • Medication Pickup – If you have medications that need to be picked up, Mrs Haid will be available to sign these out to you in the Exploratorium.
  • No Animals on Campus, please

Please complete the End-of-Year Picnic Form to share your plans with us. This will help us make the event safe and enjoyable for everyone.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact the school office or your child’s teacher.

Please note: Preschool families will receive a separate communication regarding their picnic schedule.

Thank you for your support, and we look forward to celebrating with you!

Smooth Dismissal: Parent Responsibility for Consistent Pick-Up

Parent responsibility is key to maintaining pick-up consistency.  When students know where to go, who will pick them up, and what the backup plan is, they are better prepared for any situation. Sticking to a consistent established plan is crucial to minimizing confusion and stress.

To ensure a smooth and stress-free dismissal process, we kindly request that parents discuss end-of-day pick-up plans with their children daily. Students should know how they are getting home before coming to school.  Clear communication helps students feel more confident and calm, especially if there are any delays.

We understand that true emergencies can arise. In such cases, please call the front office at (303) 702 – 8040 as early as possible if there is a change in the pick-up plan.  We want to ensure that all emergency changes are communicated effectively and in a timely manner and appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

Non-emergency changes should be kept to a minimum and communicated early in the day and no later than 3:00 pm.  We can not guarantee calls made after three will give the office enough time to communicate those changes with students and staff.
