Third Grade Market Day

Third graders participated in their first Market Day applying math and economics skills. Students developed a business plan for a shop that either sold a good or service. They also had to determine pricing and marketing strategies that would help their shop be successful. Finally, they got to play the role of a consumer as they shopped at their peers’ businesses using classroom currency.
Mountain View Fire Visits First Grade

Our first graders had an exciting visit from Mountain View Fire and Rescue! Students learned all about fire safety, the important work firefighters do, and got a close-up look at the paramedic truck and equipment. The parade will begin at 9:15 AM, with students walking around the field on the west side of the building. Families are warmly invited to attend! Please stand inside the areas marked with cones to ensure clear walking paths for our students. In case of inclement weather, we will share updated parade timing and location details with families on the evening of October 30th.
Following the parade, students will enjoy classroom celebrations at different times throughout the day:

A few friendly reminders:

We can’t wait to celebrate this fun day with our students and families. Thank you for helping us make it a safe and happy Halloween for everyone!

Every day counts when it comes to learning! Consistent attendance helps students build strong routines, stay connected with their classmates, and keep up with important lessons. Please make sure your child arrives on time each morning and stays for the full day whenever possible.
If your child will be absent, remember to call or email the attendance office at 303-702-8040 or [email protected] to let us know the reason and length of absence. Together, we can help every student succeed one day at a time!

Material Fees
This is a reminder that a ten-dollar materials fee has been assigned to all students at the beginning of the school year. These fees directly support various student activities and resources at our school, enriching their educational experience.
In past years, these funds have contributed to our Exploratorium activities, grade-level educational magazines, science projects, and other specialized programs that benefit all students. We appreciate your support in making these valuable resources and activities possible. Payment can be made in Infinite Campus. Thank you to those who have already paid these fees.

We have been having unseasonably warm weather but the cold is just around the corner. Please make sure your students are dressed appropriately for the sudden changes of warm to cold that happen in the fall. For those who are new, and a reminder to our community, we have included our weather policy which is in our Highlands Parent Code of Conduct.
“Recess is an integral part of the school day and all students will be expected to participate. Students should wear clothing and shoes appropriate for outside play. Students can be excused from recess with a doctor’s note.
Children will go outside for recess unless there is excessive precipitation, lightning or if the temperature falls below 15 degrees (temperature + wind chill)”
Student Fees & Payments

You can pay school fees through either Revtrak or Infinite Campus.
- Revtrak: For field trips, class shirts, and special classroom supplies (like music recorders).
- Infinite Campus: For materials fees, iPad insurance, and preschool tuition.
